1. Agreement and service operator
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Twyn, 90 Atekong Drive, Nigeria (“Twyn”, “we”, “us”). They govern the Twyn website, mobile app, and related services (together, the “Service”). Operator details are also in our Imprint.
By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you use Twyn for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms are version 2026-08-25.
2. What Twyn provides
Twyn is a collaboration network. It lets members create builder profiles, discover people and projects, exchange invitations and messages, join communities, open shared rooms and project spaces, make audio/video calls, receive recommendations, and use related productivity features. Optional features may include sponsored placements and paid plans.
Twyn provides the platform, not the work promised by a member. We are not an employer, recruitment agency, educational institution, escrow service, partnership broker, or party to agreements between collaborators. A match, badge, score, vouch, or verification signal is context—not a guarantee of identity, enrollment, skill, character, availability, funding, ownership, or project success.
3. Eligibility and account security
- You must be at least 16 and legally able to enter this contract. If local law requires permission from a parent or guardian, you must have it.
- Provide accurate, current information and maintain only accounts you are authorized to use.
- Keep your credentials and devices secure. You are responsible for activity through your account unless it results from a failure on our side.
- Tell us promptly at legal@twynd.de if you suspect unauthorized access.
- You may not create an account for someone else, sell or transfer an account, or evade a suspension.
4. Profiles, public visibility, and verification
Builder profiles are designed to be discoverable and can be visible without sign-in. You control what optional profile information you provide, but anything marked public can be indexed, copied, or shared by others. Do not publish private contact details, confidential information, or information you lack permission to disclose.
Email verification shows control of an inbox. GitHub sign-in shows control of the connected GitHub account and verified email returned to Twyn. Academic verification shows control of an address on the displayed domain at the time of verification. It does not prove current enrollment, student status, graduation, institutional approval, or identity. You must not misrepresent an affiliation and should update your profile when it changes.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use Twyn to:
- break the law, violate another person's rights, or facilitate fraud, malware, exploitation, or unsafe activity;
- harass, threaten, stalk, discriminate against, sexually exploit, or deliberately endanger anyone;
- publish illegal, hateful, deceptive, privacy-invasive, infringing, or non-consensual content;
- impersonate a person or organization, falsify credentials, manipulate verification, or misrepresent a project, role, compensation, or affiliation;
- spam, phish, scrape, harvest personal data, send unsolicited bulk messages, or operate an unauthorized advertising campaign;
- access a room, call, project, community, account, or data unless you are an authorized member or invited participant;
- probe, bypass, or interfere with authentication, access controls, rate limits, moderation controls, network security, or Service operation;
- reverse engineer the Service except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it, or use automated access without our written permission; or
- use Twyn or member content to train a model or build a competing people/profile database without the relevant rights and our written permission.
6. Your content and the license Twyn needs
You retain your ownership rights in content you submit (“User Content”). You give Twyn a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, display, and process that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, moderate, support, and improve the Service and to follow the visibility and sharing choices you make. The license lasts while the content is available through Twyn, plus a reasonable period for backups and legal obligations.
You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content and grant this license. You remain responsible for it. Privacy and membership settings limit how Twyn displays content, but they cannot prevent an authorized recipient from copying it.
If you send product feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment, provided we do not identify you publicly without permission. Twyn's software, brand, interface, and original materials remain owned by Twyn or its licensors; these Terms do not transfer them to you.
7. Collaborations, projects, and intellectual property
Members decide their own project scope, roles, deadlines, ownership, confidentiality, compensation, expenses, licenses, and exit terms. Twyn does not determine who owns code, designs, inventions, datasets, documents, or other output created in a collaboration. Before material work starts, collaborators should record those terms in a separate agreement appropriate to their project.
Do not share employer, client, school, open-source, or third-party materials unless their rules permit it. Twyn is not responsible for another member's promises, work quality, payment, use of shared materials, or conduct outside the Service.
8. Rooms, calls, and recordings
Only people associated with and authorized for a collaboration room may enter its call or access its private materials. You must not share access, signaling data, links, or screen content with an unauthorized person. Calls use peer-to-peer WebRTC where possible and may use a relay where required.
Twyn does not currently record room audio, video, or screen shares. A participant may be technically able to record with another tool. You must tell everyone and obtain any consent required by law before recording, transcribing, or distributing a call. You are responsible for what you reveal on camera, microphone, chat, notes, files, and screen share.
9. AI features and recommendations
Twyn may use AI to rank potential collaborators or asks and to generate requested room recaps. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, biased, or wrong. Review it before relying on it. Scores and explanations are not background checks, professional advice, or promises about a person or project.
You must not use Twyn's AI output as the sole basis for an employment, credit, education, housing, insurance, legal, medical, or similarly significant decision. Do not submit secrets, regulated data, or sensitive personal data that you are not authorized to process. The Privacy Policy explains what can be sent to the AI provider.
10. Content moderation, reports, and appeals
We may use reports, access rules, rate limits, automated signals, and human review to identify illegal content, Terms violations, fraud, spam, or safety risks. Depending on severity and context, we may reduce visibility, remove content, limit features, preserve evidence, warn a member, suspend or terminate an account, or contact authorities where required.
Except where doing so would create risk, compromise an investigation, or be legally prohibited, we will provide a reason for a material restriction. To report content, use Twyn's report controls or email legal@twynd.de with the URL or content identifier and an explanation. To appeal a moderation decision, reply to the notice or email the same address. We will review the context and respond within a reasonable time.
Repeated clearly unfounded reports or abuse of the complaint process can itself result in restrictions.
11. Pro subscriptions, payment, cancellation, and withdrawal
If paid plans are available, the checkout page shows the plan, billing interval, total price, taxes where applicable, included features, and renewal terms before you order. Stripe processes payment. A subscription renews for the displayed interval until you cancel it through Twyn's billing portal or contact us. Cancellation stops future renewal; paid access normally continues through the current period.
Prices may change for a future renewal after reasonable advance notice. Any refund, withdrawal, cooling-off, cancellation, or price-adjustment right that mandatory consumer law gives you remains unaffected. Where applicable, checkout will provide the legally required pre-contract information and instructions for exercising a right of withdrawal. Nothing in these Terms asks a consumer to waive a statutory right without the separate, express steps the law requires.
12. Third-party services and sponsored content
Twyn integrates services such as GitHub, Stripe, Anthropic, email and push providers, hosting, storage, and call infrastructure. Their own terms and privacy notices apply when you interact with them. We are responsible for choosing and integrating our processors as required by law, but not for an independent third-party site or service you choose to visit.
Sponsored content is labeled. A sponsor is responsible for its claims, destination, and offer. Twyn does not endorse a sponsor merely by displaying a placement.
13. Suspension, termination, and account deletion
You may stop using Twyn and delete your account from settings. We may restrict or terminate access for a material or repeated violation, unlawful use, a credible safety or security risk, non-payment, or where operating the Service becomes unlawful. Where appropriate, we will use a proportionate measure and provide notice and an opportunity to appeal.
On deletion, Twyn removes account access and scrubs profile identity as described in the Privacy Policy. Shared work may remain under “Deleted user” so deletion does not erase other members' messages, rooms, communities, or projects. Provisions that by nature should survive—such as ownership, accrued payment, lawful content retention, liability, and dispute terms—continue after termination.
14. Service availability and changes
We work to keep Twyn reliable, but features may be interrupted, delayed, changed, or discontinued for maintenance, security, provider failure, product development, or legal reasons. We do not promise that every feature or match will always be available. If we discontinue a paid feature that forms a material part of your current plan, we will provide an appropriate remedy required by the contract or applicable law.
We may update these Terms for legal, security, operational, or product reasons. We will identify the new effective date and give reasonable advance notice of material changes where required. A change does not retroactively remove rights you already have. If you do not accept a material change, you may cancel and stop using Twyn before it takes effect.
15. Responsibility, warranties, and liability
Twyn will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. Recommendations, member-supplied content, collaboration outcomes, and uninterrupted availability are not guaranteed. You remain responsible for evaluating collaborators, backing up important work, protecting confidential information, and making your own project and professional decisions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intent or gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, product-liability obligations, breach of an expressly guaranteed characteristic, or mandatory consumer rights. For ordinary negligence, Twyn is liable only for breach of an essential contractual duty and only for loss that was typical and reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made. Any further limitation applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
16. Governing law and disputes
The law of Nigeria applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections of the country where you usually live. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear a dispute; consumers retain any right to bring proceedings in their home courts.
Please contact legal@twynd.de first so we can try to resolve a concern. We aim to resolve consumer complaints directly. Please contact us at hello@twynd.de. If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may submit it to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) through its complaint-resolution channels or pursue any other remedy available under applicable law. Nothing in this statement limits your statutory consumer rights.
17. General terms
If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays effective and the mandatory law governing the invalid provision applies. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or this contract without our consent; we may transfer the contract as part of a reorganization or sale if your rights are not reduced. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the checkout terms for a paid plan, and any feature-specific terms shown to you form the agreement about Twyn.
